A SUMMER FULL OF INNOVATIONS!
01 OCTOBER 2025
POP-UP PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP
More than just a workshop, this intensive photography course has been a transformative experience beyond Jithubutu’s walls. Participants captured places and people, mastering technical skills while witnessing real reactions firsthand.
Everybody’s contribution led to a stunning photography exhibition in an evening event followed by a gallery showcase from September 25 to December 23.
This initiative enhanced the use of the space, gave value to the artworks, and strengthened the self-esteem of the creators, the people portrayed, and the project as a whole.
NEW TOOLS FOR CARPENTRY WORKSHOPS
Since its creation, our carpentry workshops have drawn more and more members. Like everything here, the quality keeps evolving and improving!
This August, we hosted an intensive carpentry course led by volunteer Sebastien, a professional carpenter from Spain. Sebastien not only shared his deep expertise but also donated essential tools to Jithubutu.

These specialized tools enabled participants to craft various furniture pieces with less physical effort, focusing on precision and details. They also boosted motivation as we can now accommodate more people per session without anyone waiting for tools.
Participants learned to organize task distribution, building leadership skills through teamwork and no one left empty-handed! Many took home handmade treasures for themselves and loved ones: cupboards, bookshelves, bathroom accessories, and more.
PARTNERTING WITH BD’A FOR A STRONGER FUTURE
At the end of 2024, Jithubutu was one of just four NGOs selected by BD4A, an Italian business design consulting program. We’ve since collaborated through e-meetings to refine our goals and build a solid plan to achieve them. This summer, BD4A’s Beatrice Gamba visited Arusha for a 5-day intensive course!
Jithubutu offers diverse activities to stimulate everyone inclusively, with options tailored to personal interests and goals. Structuring each one to benefit our center and community can be challenging among all the behind-the-scenes work.
Thanks to this course, our team dove deeper into key activities. By analyzing member needs through precise data collection, we’ve optimized our offerings for greater impact and Jithubutu’s long-term sustainability.
The intensive course ended, but the journey continues as we keep implementing and brainstorming structured plans for the centre’s future. This new knowledge equips our team to tackle any project ahead.
EVERY HELP COUNTS
Jithubutu community is a big family. Whether you’re in Arusha or abroad, committing a short time or long, you’re always welcome!
This summer, Nina from Bolivia joined us for just one week. Yet her impact was huge: delivering Spanish lessons and social network expertise that boosted Jithubutu, as well as upgrading our host NGO, Samaritan Initiative Organization’s website.
