MUSIC MADE FROM SCRATCH AT JITHUBUTU!

Have you ever discovered the artist inside you only to watch time slip away and months pass without practice?
Many of us listen to music or gaze at paintings and dream of creating something from scratch to express our deepest feelings. But fear or uncertainty often makes starting feel intimidating. That’s why Jithubutu exists: a space where members find motivation, guidance, and the encouragement to dive in!
Our volunteers Sacha and Hanna embody this spirit! During their time at the center, they’ve shown how passion and community support sparks real creativity.
Through our FREE STAGE sessions, Sacha connected with Molly (a valued team member) and McDy (one of our participants). Together, they launched a remarkable collaboration: writing the chorus, crafting verses, and recording in a local studio here in Arusha!
With Hanna’s expertise, we’ve been able to conduct an intensive music program! Our members, full of energy and creativity, were finally learning about the theory of music in order to improve themselves. Hanna also supported us with the singing program and keeps teaching our team member Molly from her home town.
The result? 3 amazing songs you can listen to on Spotify and YouTube! This project spotlights our local studio GRANDMA STAR and its producer High Smoke, as well as Seven Performer, who handles Jithubutu’s media and created the music video.
Creativity is contagious! Watching the dynamism of our members in action has everybody’s confidence. We’re seeing more people join FREE STAGE sessions, take initiative, and dare to create!
